Si.

Good video, you had some points in there that I hadn't considered before. However, as a musician I think you've missed some of the most important reasons why the music of today is so bad.

Here is my own list of reasons:

1) Technology.
Imagine the composer of 40+ years ago and what they did to compose a song. They sat down with some staff paper, a pencil, and an instrument (probably piano or guitar). They composed from scratch. Imagine what it took to do that: talent, ability, knowledge of music theory + harmony, ability to play an instrument, ability to song, etc.
What do you think you would end up with? Well I can tell you what you'd end up with: a piece of music that sounds good, something that FEELS good, something that comes from your heart and soul.
Why? Because you can't play 2-chord vamps on a piano all day long and have it sound good. It will be exposed for what it is: pure weakness. The composer doesn't have access to a drum machine, sound effects, synthesizer, nothing.
Therefore, the song MUST stand on its own 2 feet or it immediately sounds like crap.

Simply put, you are going to compose something that you love, something that feels good to play and feels great to sing. It just works this way. Now, imagine the pop composer of today.
What do they have at their disposal? Synthesizers with endless reams of sounds and sound effects; composition software to play and loop tracks; sequencers; samplers; etc. The result is that someone with NO musical talent can sit down and put together a few catchy bars, write a basic lyric, and then stuff it full of whiz-bang effects, like polishing a turd. This, I would argue, is the single greatest reason why music of today suffers: it takes such a small amount of talent to put a song together. Result? Songs of today overwhelmingly consist of 2- and 4-bar phrases that never develop into anything. It's like listening to a baby who can say "lookit meeee, I'm-a go to da store!" vs. listening to Orson Welles narrate a story - you know, something with a beginning, middle, and end.
Every time I hear a song today, I hear maybe 4 bars of 'catchy' material that never goes anywhere and I'm constantly asking myself "why the hell didn't they do anything with that??"
The answer: the composer either didn't care or didn't have the talent. They simply polished the turd, and that was good enough for them. Couple that with the fact that the songs emanate from soulless drum machines and synthesizer "hits" and it absolutely blows my mind that people still "like" the shit.

2) Music studios.
You alluded to this in your video - only a handful of music studios basically "control" the entirety of pop music. Why? Because they control the distribution.
They approve what songs get written and released, and they buy the airtime to ensure their shitty pop songs get pumped out EVERYWHERE. How do you break into such a market? What if you have a different sound you want people to hear? Well, you're out of luck. That's why the palette of pop songs is so limited; the music studios keep it that way out of sheer brute force. And what do the music studios care about? Do they care about the craftsmanship that goes into a song? Do they care if a song has any meaning? Its soulfulness? No. They don't care about any of those things. All they care about, of course, is money! The result? The music that emanates from their studios is designed to make money. NOT to change the world. NOT to make a social commentary. NOT to sound good, or rich, or soulful, or musical. It is strictly designed to be catchy and make as fast a buck as possible.
How do I prove this? Well, consider this: how many songs from the 60's and 70's have stood the test of time? How many songs from those eras are considered "classics"? Answer: a metric shit-ton. The songs from those eras are timeless, and people still listen to them today. Moreover, people will listen to those songs 500 years from now, and enjoy them as much as people did back in the day.
Now, ask yourself: how many songs can you remember from 10 years ago? 5 years ago? Even 3 years ago? Not many.
How many songs over the past 30 years do you think will be remembered in 500 years time, as compared to the 60's and 70's? Answer: almost none.
It's not even a fair fight. The songs of today are written to hit the "sweet spot", provide a few empty calories of enjoyment, make a few quick bucks, and then disappear down the sewer hole. And THAT, my children, is why music of today is such complete and utter shit. It's not just a bunch of old fogies saying "twenty-three skidoo, kids of today and their music! grrrr". No, it's about the commercialization and the assembly-line construction of music. The music of yesteryear really was 1,000% better than the music of today, there is no comparison. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that the music of today is not really music, it's just a callous representation of music. A soulless, vapid, vacuous black hole of infinite shite masquerading as music. No subtlety, no soul, no heart, no nothing.
Just a bunch of little egos shouting "LOOK AT MEEEEEEE!!" Pathetic. I shit on it.
